I love, love, LOVE this concept. Maybe it’s because I’m Southern, too. (Well, okay a Southern transplant.) Maybe it’s because I’m a writer. Or a lifelong public radio listener. Or maybe it’s because one of my favorite childhood memories is listening to my mother read The Chronicles of Narnia or Little House on the Prairie books to me as a child.
Regardless, it didn’t take much to convince me I should back the Unbound: Fiction on the Radio project when I read about it over at Galleycat today. They have raised $4,000 towards producing a 30-minute radio show featuring authors from around the country reading their short stories on the air. I can’t wait to listen to their episodes via podcast down here in Tennessee! (Ahem. WPLN, any chance this will be picked up by my favorite local public radio station?)
